Welcome to the Scream Shack! In the summertime, the Scream Shack is where Lander locals and tourists alike line up to scream for ice cream – as well as for thick, frosty, made-to-order milkshakes and ice cold, refreshing sundaes. The shack’s Menu of ice cream cones, cups, toppings, milkshakes and sundaes is available daily throughout the summer and early fall.
Limited outdoor seating is available right next to the shack – and patrons can also enjoy their ice cream on the Gannett Grill’s spacious outdoor deck.
The shack, which sits on the corner of First and Main, was constructed nearly entirely from recycled materials in order to blend in beautifully with the historic Coalter Block Building, which houses the Lander Bar and Gannett Grill. The Scream Shack’s unique, environmentally friendly design includes the use of discarded barn wood for walls, pre-used tin for insulation and old license plates for roof shingles and signage.
The Scream Shack works closely with the other four establishments that form the Coalter Block restaurant group – Cowfish, the Lander Brewing Company, the Gannett Grill and the Lander Bar – to offer locals and tourists a selection of dining experiences all year round.
Established originally in 2009, the walk-up ice cream store is located on the Coalter Block on Main Street in downtown Lander, between First and Second Streets. Parking is available on the street out front and in a parking lot that runs alongside and in back of the Coalter Block restaurant group.
